Have just got myself an early christmas present,a ricoh sg3110dn, when i have finished using it,do i turn it off,or leave it turned on, till i next use it?

It recommends you leave it on standby.

Normally leave on, but if you're going away for a month then switch it off!

Just leave it and it will do it itself.

my screen goes off altogether just the blue light stays on

If you leave it on (or on standby) the printer will periodically perform a head clean to make sure that is doesn't get clogged up. So, it is recommended not to turn it off fully - this will mean that you're using ink even when not printing, but at least your printer should be able to print for you next time you need it.
