Mug Problems
Re: Mug Problems
Hi all,
have a 5 in1 press and have been making t shits for awhile now, but someone gave me an epson SX235W with a set of dye sublimation inks and I decided to try the mug press out.
I am printing from photoshop or silhouette to the epsom, with it set to best photo and photo paper, but when I put the mug in the press and follow the instruction sheet a blank mug comes out. I have checked I am printing on the correct side of the sublimation paper, but just can't work out what I am doing wrong. Any ideas.

Re: Mug Problems
are you absolutely sure that the inks in the printer are dye sublimation inks, and not just dye inks?
Also, is the mug you are using a sublimation mug, or just a standard mug?

Re: Mug Problems

Re: Mug Problems
checked order code on box and with previous owner, who said ha couldn:t get it to work which is why I got it. Have now contacted original supplier of ink and got the right ink for mug printing, so should be okay soon.

I did the blank mug thing once (accidentally had normal paper in the printer)
Excitedly peeled back the paper off the mug and...TAADAAAAA!.... nothing  lol.

Re: Mug Problems
Well that is quite surprising as I have used normal paper before (just to see if sublimation paper was really something special) and always got some image even if a little faded.CarArtz Dave;53719 wrote:I did the blank mug thing once (accidentally had normal paper in the printer)

Re: Mug Problems
I have the right ink and it is working okay now. Setting printer to best photo quality and photo paper (can't find epsom vivid on mine), have the press at 180 for 120 seconds, but although the image comes out, in places there are stripes instead of full clear colour. Could this mean more time, more heat or should I change to one of the epsom glossy settings?
