Are you running Studio 2.5.8, because for some reason it changed all the settings, so if its any help, I am still running the old version so I can let you have all the original settings. Also what vinyl are you using? I don't understand why you are having so many problems :o(

hi.....i,m running 2.5.8 - where can i download the older version you guys are running ?...lot of people seem to be having probs with this newer version.

The newer vinyl samples i got were these - http://www.mdpsupplies.co.uk/cameohotflex.asp
and the first ones i got were these -http://www.printerowners.co.uk/garment- ... n-flex.htm

The newer ones dont cut at all, they score the vinyl but not enough to be able to weed any of it.
The first ones i just cant for the life of me tell which way is shiny and which way is matt....both sides look the same to me ....and i have wasted sheet after sheet trying to sort this.....
At least BMS vinyl cuts to some degree....lot better than the other one, which is nearly nil.

i was also told NOT to put my blade above 3 as its not needed....really?...

and to cut without a cutting mat - no chance....chew chew chew......

I still love this little machine and i hope i can sort it out....open to any advice....
Have contacted cameo to see what they suggest.

I don't think you can download the older version as its not available now that 2.5.8 is out, but as I'm still running the older version I can screenshot the default settings for you, but I'm not sure that is going to help.

I use mdp hotflex and have had no problems, and I have cut it with a mat and without a mat. I use blade set at no 2 and I have never set it higher than 3 for anything so far. I can't help but wonder whether you have a defective blade. Have you tried contacting Graphtec and explained the problem? They are very helpful and I know they have sent out replacement blades to those that have had problems. Karine is the person you need to speak to.

As thats good news, well done! I'm sure its not fluke :o) The previous version is 2.5.0 so you won't have some of the newer features with 2.0.0, but at least you have the old cutting settings. For vinyl you shouldn't need to crank it up to 33 thickness, I find 9 is perfect.

Good move on contacting Graphtec, I'm sure they will be able to help.

have tryed it at 9,15,20,25,33.....25 cuts through but i,m having to push and tear to get letters out....

9 just cuts outline....doesnt even penetrate enough to weed at all....33 is perfect...clean cut/easy weed and that was on a small size font......still think the blade is kinda wonky

just cut BMS vinyl at same settings blade 3 - speed - 4 - thickness - 33....PERFECT CLEAN CUT......

it must be something to do with the NEW 2.5.8 software then ?

cause i couldnt get bugger all to work proper - unistall 2.5.8 and fire on 2.0.0b and all is well .. well, maybe not the same settings as the rest of you, but at least its cutting PERFECT

and......

ive finally managed to figure out the BMS vinyl.....it now cuts great and applyed onto t-shirt no problems.....

off to dye my hair now.....more grey coming through lol - jeez, that sounds gay...i,m not - trust me lol

Amazing what a bit of software can do! No matter about the settings being different, it seems to vary between blades, users and types of medium anyhow
