Take a side pic of the mug in the press with it closed.
The problem is you have a press which is most likely a clone.

When the handle gets to the halfway point you should start to feel a light pressure on the mug.

The spring loaded bolts should never be moved.

bear in mind its a FREESUB which I stated at the beginning, [ATTACH=CONFIG]6703[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]6704[/ATTACH]yours probably doesn't say FREESUB.

That looks tight enough to me.
Open the press tighten the thumbscrew and close it again.

dont get me wrong it needs to be a snug fit but not really tight fit.
as long as the mug doesn’t move in the press when closed.

Ok I thought it had to be firm pressure I read this on this forum, like medium to hard pressure to get good image contact.

I will try as is at the moment with both screws tighten (light-medium pressure) tomorrow.

If it comes to it take a video of the handle going down so I can see what pressure your applying and how your interpretation of firm compares to mine ;)

well I don't know how to upload a video file.
If I explain... I can close the press with 110z mug inside with my index finger, light pressure.
