Take a side pic of the mug in the press with it closed.
The problem is you have a press which is most likely a clone.
When the handle gets to the halfway point you should start to feel a light pressure on the mug.
The spring loaded bolts should never be moved.

Open the press tighten the thumbscrew and close it again.
dont get me wrong it needs to be a snug fit but not really tight fit.
as long as the mug doesn’t move in the press when closed.

Ok I thought it had to be firm pressure I read this on this forum, like medium to hard pressure to get good image contact.
I will try as is at the moment with both screws tighten (light-medium pressure) tomorrow.
but thanks with all your help today, much appreciated. top man!

If it comes to it take a video of the handle going down so I can see what pressure your applying and how your interpretation of firm compares to mineTony4415;148404 wrote:Ok I thought it had to be firm pressure I read this on this forum, like medium to hard pressure to get good image contact.

well I don't know how to upload a video file.
If I explain... I can close the press with 110z mug inside with my index finger, light pressure.
