bit impressed with myself !!!!!
Re: bit impressed with myself !!!!!
Morning, I am a self confessed giver uppera !!! (yes that's a word I invented it !!) anyways , we got this heat press , easy 4 months ago , bought a load of blanks etc, wasted a load of blanks etc.... so turned it off- stuck 2 fingers up to it and left it .
well, at the weekend we looked into Max spielbergs window and saw a heat press, so said to the guy - do you use that he said yeah - so i just said i cant use mine and he told me that they have a list of times and temps , so.... lets just say he was errrr, errr, helpful ! , told me one setting for a mouse mat...
So this morning i turned the pain in the butt back on set the temp at 300 ,med pressure, and 60 secs.... and guess what OMG - it only went and worked !!!
I was a bit scared that i would start a fire and melt the mat - but it did stick to the plate , but before i could get something to get it off - it fell off !.
took the pics of and im like ''Gangnam style'' !!!
I have posted a pic below (not a good un) taken on fone
- all the other feint pictures are me trying all other temps and times (fed up with wasting stuff).
So at least now i know it works --- wonder if i go back and get some more times from Mr Max LOL

Re: bit impressed with myself !!!!!
time and temps are available on most suppliers websites, there is even a poster you can download on xpress website, as with most things its a case of trial and error for your particular set up

If you had your actual location instead of just United Kingdom, you might have found some-one near you who might be able to help!

Well they must be very insure then in what they do, is all I can say. We are on the whole, a very helpful bunch, agreed we wont give away any of our trade secrets, but helping one and another out is what we do. If you read through some of the treads, you will see offers of, 'you are close by, pop in and I will show you how to do so and so' or 'I'm just down th eroad from you, I'll pop in and see how I can help', etc.

I would agree with Mrs Maggot on this one.. it is a little trial and error but every supplier gives you at least a starting point.
Once you have them.. write them down and then you will end up with your own list of times, temps, platen pressures.
We all have different machines, inks, blanks etc.. so nothing will ever be exact but near enough.. and welcome back to the world of sublimation

Question to ask is your press temperature scale? is it in centigrade or Fahrenheit? If you had to set your press to 300 then i doubt is in "C". so most of times and temps from supplier websites won't work as they are in centigrade.Mumfy;96738 wrote:i got my blanks from longforte - and did see the temps and times , but they didnt work for me , I will have a looka t xpress one tho , thanks

Mumfy,
A very good example about helping each other is going on right now with me and Paul, a Super Moderator on this forum. I bought some templates from his site, and somehow the time for downloading them run out, he has gone into the site and reset everthing for me, so I can get them, also a while back I crashed the hard drive and lost everything on it, again Paul came to the rescue. Now he didn't need to do that, he could have said tough, but he didn't.
