Re: Issues with my slates again
I use heavy pressure like still quite difficult to close with 2 hands
Re: Issues with my slates again
Could it be that the slate is a natural material and doesn't heat evenly. Have you got an infrared reader to check the slate.
Many thanks

Did you ever get the sponge sheet? Are you pre-heating both the slate and the sheet?harlequeen;94619 wrote:Well, it all seems a bit hit and miss to be honest. I use exactly the same method and get different results. I am wondering if my press is varying in temperature or coverage, but I only get an issue with slates.. (scratches head).
Thanks for all the input people.
Re: Issues with my slates again
I pre-heat the slates at 195 degrees and press then for 9minutes using paper then a silicone sheet on top ,,,,, it may help to press 2 slates at a time to ensure a even pressure when pressing which works well for me...........

Re: Issues with my slates again
I've been getting quite good results with my slates lately, but I've come to the conclusion that 1 supplier has Grade A and another has Grade B. I buy from Grade B supplier because they have a size the Grade A supplier doesn't have. I will have to remove the size from my list of products. They are not as good, which is a great shame.
Re: Issues with my slates again
Why don't you see if the Grade A supplier can get you the size that the Grade B supplier has available. There may be a delay in stock arriving but it will save you withdrawing the product line from sale permanently.harlequeen;101381 wrote:I've been getting quite good results with my slates lately, but I've come to the conclusion that 1 supplier has Grade A and another has Grade B.
