Re: Laser?? I think I need new glasses!
Annie, I have a few questions/comments...
Is Ultrabrite £2.28 per A4 Sheet and this is the stuff required for white onto dark garments?
Is the ULTRADECO DISHWASHER PROOF or DISHWASHER SAFE - There is a huge difference
Also, you claim that it is cheaper, and you are right, start up wise it is cheaper, but if you do a search on Sun Angel within the forum you will see that I have done a cost analysis which shows that the SA system is considerably more expensive in the long run. I have no allegiance to OKI and their white printers or TMT or XPRES, I just think it is fair to point out that after less than 1000 prints it will cost more than current systems (WOW paper has reduced in price since the post hence 1000 here and not 1300 as previously stated).
I do love your FLUORESCENT system and think that is a huge winner in the D2C market.

I have just watched the demo video on the transfer press site....hmm I guess not for me. Print in printer 1, print in printer 2, put through laminator, press, cool, place on garment, press, leave to cool.
Nice result...so I'll leave that for everybody else to earn money on......although I have been known to change my mind!

More expensive and takes a lot longer, if you put a value on your time then I would go for OKI White from either TMT or XPRESS. I personally favour TMT because they have their own software which saves on white toner making it considerably cheaper.
Their FLUORESCENT looks good though

Certainly looks like alot of faffing around between the two printers needed, changing whites to red, and multiple presses! My main concern would be if the alignment of the paper feed was not spot on while printing the second layer, that things wouldn't work out exactly as planned.JMugs;93593 wrote:I have just watched the demo video on the transfer press site....hmm I guess not for me. Re: Laser?? I think I need new glasses!
I have taken your notes and passed them onto our Technical Director who has given me the following figures.
32WB Machine – 9.9p @ 5%
C711 WT Machine – 4.3p @ 5%
= 5.6p difference.
C711WT =£1995.00
32WB = £339.00
= £1656.00 Difference.
£1656.00 / 5.6p = 29,500 copies before the C711WT Machine is cheaper.
Customers can use whichever media they are happiest with on both machines.
Both ourselves and our customers find the system extremely easy to use. Changing the white to red can be done using any software you currently have or even Microsoft Word. As both printers are exactly the same model there is very little room for an alignment problem.
The double pass of the images is only needed when using white in the designs, as most of our customers point out although it is very nice being able to colour and white in a single pass it is essential to have a REAL black station as well.

I must admit that the 711's version of black is more like a dark purple.

It never even crossed my mind that there is no black ink in the 711! That has gotta be limiting the system somewhat.ArferMo;93987 wrote:>29K prints might take a week or two.... I wish :rolleyes:

Re: Laser?? I think I need new glasses!
Sorry Annie but I respectfully disagree with your figures and some of your comments, you are skewing the figures to suit your own machines (which I fully understand) but they are totally incorrect.
I have reviewed my original cost analysis and I will still stand by what I have said. It is less than 1000 prints before the OKI white with Space Control Software from TMT is cheaper.
I note your claim of being able to use WOW paper in your machine's. However, as you know, papers and vinyls are set up for a specific processes and systems, I am pretty sure that the WOW paper is optimised for their system. Using it in a Sun Angel system would produce different results which are probably not as colour accurate.
With regards to REAL black. If you can tell the difference between the two images I have just printed I will eat my hat. One was printed on a CMYK OKI301 (the same as your printer), the other was printed on the 711White using Space Control. Both have been printed on to TMT 3.1 Paper. I would be willing to print on other types of paper if I had them here. As you can see, there is no major difference, so I am not sure why your customers are saying what they are saying, its pointless and incorrect.
Sorry to be so harsh, but I think that customers should know the real costs of anything before they dive in. I am sure you have thousands of very happy customers and good luck to them. However you must acknowledge that while your system is cheaper to purchase, it becomes more expensive over time.
Spongebob, it does not limit the machine at all (see the image), the cost to print black is more expensive than if you were printing from a black toner cart. I think I worked it out at about 1p more expensive at one stage

Re: Laser?? I think I need new glasses!
The CYM version of black in the 711 is quite off putting to the trained eye, most casual customers accept it but not good on photographs that need a proper black.
With SunAngel you get two lots of black as their colour printer has it and so does the white printer if required as well as the double coat of white.
