Re: Photoshop Portrait/Landscape Printing Issue...

Post by Ucase Ltd »

Hi all,

I feel stupid asking this but just can't get it, (I had it fine but obviously did something wrong).

I have Photoshop CC and a Ricoh 3110DN with powerdriver.

My print preview looks fine (see image1)
But when I print I get this (see image2)
I have tried adjusting from portrait to landscape etc and putting the paper the other way round in the printer but end up with partial images (see image3)

Anybody have a clue what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,
John.

I am not a Photoshop CC and a Ricoh 3110DN user but...
Could it be that somewhere in the settings the printer or power driver thinks that it is outputting for A3 paper?

Just a thought...

Hi Earl,

I don't think so - I have everything set to A5, unless there's some hidden settings?

Thanks,

I dont use your setup so cant help. It was just my initial thoughts because something similar happened to me. Maybe the problem is the A5 setting and its outputting to A4 paper. Or visa versa.

Hi John,
This was my though as well. It looks like the picture is wanting to be in the centre of an A4 sheet rather than the A5 that is shown in PS.
Are you able to show us the bottom of the screen in Pic 1 and the screen that is shown when "Print Settings" is clicked from Pic 1?

Thanks John.
I use a Ricoh with PS CS4 & I don't see anything I would change in the settings.

Sawgrass suggests that the driver might need reinstalling. see http://www.sawgrassink.com/v.php?pg=2987 (Printed Image is Off Center, Cut Off, Distorted, etc.)

Thanks very much...

O.k re-installed OEM and Powerdriver with no difference.

However, playing around with the printer settings (on the actual printer not on on-screen) I noticed the A5 paper size was 210mm x 148mm whereas all drivers and photoshop were showing 148mm x 210mm.

I changed this to "custom" and input the values the opposite way round. I also switched the way round that the paper feeds to match and hey presto - it printed :)

I've wasted most of the day but at least it's working.

Thanks again all for your input.

Glad you got it sorted.
I had another thought. Why not try it without the Powerdriver and just use the normal driver that comes with the printer. Just as a test and see what happens, no profiles, just run a print. My Ricoh supplier advised me not to use the powerdriiver for better results.
