When I first saw Nova Chrome at a pro photography show at the NEC some years ago I was impressed by the range of goods available and at first by the man on the stand and thought there was the potential to do dye sub as a cottage industry and that NC would be a good company to do business with. By the time I was really thinking seriously about taking the plunge another year had gone by and I saw NC at the pro photo show again and was still impressed by their demo - the man wrapped, pressed and dunked a mug in front of me and in just over three minutes I had a really impressive Spiderman mug in my hand. I could feel my credit card twitching in my wallet! However, when I started asking questions about reliability of eqpt and repairs etc bearing in mind they were in North West Wales and I was in East Anglia - thats when things took a turn for the worse.mrs maggot;84233 wrote:saw the satin mugs at a previous show, think they will add value to orders (until everyone else undercuts as normal with good items) novachrome stand always looks the same at whatever show we see them at, but i always think it shows just how much you can fit in a small display area shop wise. they always seem to think there is only one way "the novachrome way" and that everyone elses products are poor, i would love to hear other peoples feedback with their customer services as i have a feeling they never have a faulty product if you know what i mean.
All the bloke from NC did was to try and rubbish the competition and took great offence at my implying that any of his products could develop a fault. My credit card immediately retreated into my wallet and dug itself in. Not so long after I joined the DSF and someone suggested Listawoods. What a contrast!
I have been thinking about garment printing maybe with an Oki white and at trade only last month, I thought I would give NC another chance and went to talk to them about the press they could offer and once again the same bloke set about rubbishing the competition and then set about rubbishing my judgement for considering anything other than his eqpt. When I said that I thought there might be an error in his figures for the running costs of an A3 Ricoh verses an A4 he got quite snotty that I had the temerity to question him. That really was the last nail in the coffin. I am 99% sure the man I spoke to was Mr NovaChrome himself. When I left the stand the lady who I took to be his wife appeared to be ticking him off - maybe I am not the first potential customer he has severely pissed off.
No idea what their customer services are like but if they rub people up the wrong way as much as Mr Nova Chrome does ......................
Right thats got that off of my chest
