Still had a bill from the accountant for £1300.....

Their estimate for next year is £700. So next year I will save money due to no quarterly VAT bill, save money on the accounts bill, save money on insurance, and have far less hassle.....guess that's why I closed the other business!

Mine were all done earlier this week. I am lucky that I use to be in accounts myself, so have a little knowledge and my daughter is an accountant so she give the accounts a quick once over before we submit them.

I am going to get on with my return later as I have just realised that my vinyl LP collection isn't accurately filed alphabetically and if I don't get them all down from the shelves and re file them how on earth will I ever find the right LPs when I get round to buying a USB turntable to digitise them with? I just couldn't concentrate on a tax return until that is done!

Mine should get finished this weekend, has been nightmare , my ceiling fell in, (leaking pipe in bathroom) and all August paper work was underneath, I put it out to dry all over the place, airing cupboard, radiators, any dry place I could find, some of the receipts was ripped to shreds, couldn't even seen who they was from, that caused us so much grief, but good news, the insurances did give us a letter and photos for our paperwork under neath lathe and plaster, floating in water, with a load of rubble on top, just in case with have with a query with the tax man we will have proof that the dog did not eat it, but the ceiling smothered it

I'm liking the procrastinating excuses. By the way arthur.d, your vinyl collection should be in musical order, not alphabetical, that is very unsettling...please sort it out.

Have to leave the ceiling to dry out for three months, to be honest this has had a high stress level, plus august is the month where we spend the most on stock getting reading for Christmas, every so often I remember what stock we brought and get a new recipients, but it the little things cash that we have taken for stamps, postage milk fuel and the rest, will have to wait and see what money is missing when the books are fin shed, I just going to take the hit and put it down to a wage as it becoming almost impossible to sort out due the time factor, it has taken so much time that it started to effect how we are running the business. Still the ere are other people out there with worst problems that mine, I see the floods and the state of other people houses or business. So I count my blessings.

Am I missing something here, arnt we sending in returns for 2012-2013 tax year?

Did mine end of year in April. So just have to copy onto the tax form, which I did in November.

Or have I got it terribly wrong?

Yeah 2012 - 2013. Paper submissions are 31st October and online is 31st Jan including any money owed. Most people submit after Christmas when you actually have money to pay it. Unless you are a good boy and put it away each week.
