MY Tax year ends on Dec 31st - I thought I was alone in that ?

I should be in for a few quid back this time due to the amount I have shelled out on this new business :) It might even but me a new Adkins Mug Press.. (desperately need One due to my using a Chinese Cheapie - and it doesn't look good next to the rest of my gear).
My website is open: www.Linksrepairshop.co.uk

Using FlexiStarter 10 and a Liyu SC631e & a Silhouette Cameo cutter. 2x Ricoh SG3110dn printers and Adkins Auto Clam press. Using Sublijet-r from Sawgrass.
..And I have gotten my money's worth out of this forum - saved Hundreds by being a Premium Member

Not as painful as I thought, done the outgoing receipts already. Decided not be so anal in recording all the details of the receipt; numbered them and stuck the amount into excel to calculate.

Just the income to do now, let's hope I didn't earn too much haha!

My accountant died suddenly from a massive heart attack at home on the 5th January, i have no doubt in my mind, that some of it was stress, he helped anyone and everyone and worked for a company as well as helping others from home. luckily he was a good teacher and investing in sage was probably the best thing ever, and when i presented my accounts for a family friend to look over, my tax return was easy - just needed their eyes running over it to make sure. The family friend uses Quick books, and has said they are a little more small business friendly than Sage, but i am reluctant to change over

Poor family to lose someone that way :( and can imagine if he has been helping everyone that way that it probably didn't help..

done and dusted with our accountant on monday passed....even payed him there n then ;-).....asked why the funny look on his face, he said, usually they have to chase there customers to get there money ??..REALLY ?
people know when there tax return is due, so it kinda makes sense to have the accountants, you know, the guy thats making things easier for you, fee with you....gets it out the way and one less thing to worry about for the yr ahead....but it s strange world we live in.....

Mine were signed of by the accountant on Monday.
I use VT accounting. Small business friendly, simple and the accountant likes it.
I closed my other business last year and am no longer VAT registered. What a bonus that is, easier on the accounts and the pocket.

So VT accounts easy and free, accountant friendly.
