is it too much to expect that all mugs in a case be useable?!

Only problems we've seen are with cheaper 10oz bog standard mugs (from a few different suppliers we used), with them being dirty and needing a wipe/clean before pressing, which is annoying in itself. Don't normally use them (standard 10oz) but wanted something cheap to flog quickly for Christmas.

no thats not ideal, but at least the dirt wasn't under the coating! wouldn't mind putting the odd batch through the dishwasher if it cleaned them up!!

Not likely to get a smug equivalent as I think they are a bit chunky for the small size - they were the last time I saw them anyway.

Not ideal, although I admit it isn't as bad as having mugs which are permanently marked. But when you are printing 100s of mugs having to clean each one before you can use it is just another job which although a relatively short amount of time per mug soon adds up.
One thing I've noticed with the more expensive standard 10oz mugs is that it doesn't seem to be the actual mugs where the extra money has been spent - it seems to be that the more expensive ones are actually clean, and have better packaging (better quality cardboard boxes, and better quality dividers/trays.)

I'm quite new to mug printing and this is my first Christmas. I had a box of BMS mugs and didn't realise how few I had left. Went to order some more but they weren't shipping until 9th December, and this was about the first, so I had to find an alternative. I bought 2 boxes from 2 different suppliers, via Ebay, a little bit cheaper than BMS, but not much in it and they were both free delivery. They both came the next day. One of them, seems to have them all without any glazing on the inside of the handles, the others are OK but are slightly bigger than the BMS ones, so they are quite tight in the press and I don't want to adjust the press as it's set up for the BMS ones. So I have to say, in the future, I'll be spending a little bit more and make sure I order in plenty of time, and will get them from BMS!!
