Seriously thinking of getting a mug press after tonight..

Having one of those days today.. so far have wasted 9 mugs and only printed 24 others..

It's just determined to get me purchasing more hair dye for the grey hair.. but I can have a batch run of 3 mugs at a time.. 2 or 3 times.. and they look great.. next 3 go in (nothing altered.. same as before) and all mugs have issues..

It can be anything from pale areas.. to over cooked areas.. to blooming creased areas.. *which I don't do anything different with my mugs to get the damn creases lol*

So.. even though I have spent out well over £100 on clamps.. and a mug oven.. I am seriously after tonight considering a cheap press to have a bash with..

I can't afford to have that much wastage.. surely a press is going to be less stress!! lmao

Please just someone come along and warrant me spending more money..

any decent sub mug press should be ZERO waste, only human error like putting artwork wonky.
the old fashioned 'clamp' system is flawed IMHO - just get a decent £200 press and use it, keep a spare £50 blanket, coz it will fail (13months?)
we are now doing a run of 120, and will expect zero failure

If you are looking for a single unit then Listawoods do a nice one called a Genie. I purchased one for the dinky durhams and latte style mugs and have found it to be a little gem of a machine. If I have a run of 15 or so mugs I will use this machine instead of the 5 at a time press. It produces perfect results everytime.

Have been using it for a couple of months and not had a failure yet.

See this is the thing.. I don't like buying cheap as usually buy cheap, buy twice is the case..

BUT I am not in a position at the moment (as usual, comes at the wrong time) to fork out for an expensive press.. I just need something that will do for now while I sort out what I am going to do with this bloody oven and wraps, other than throw it out of the window!!

I have a spare DF50 here that you can borrow until you are ready to purchase. I am in Wisbech so you are only up the road from me. I am in all day everyday (no life me!!!) so you can pop over whenever you want (morning, afternoon or evening).

Blanket is okay and I have never had any problems with it. It sounds like it will be a much better press than what you are currently using and will get your failure rate down to negligible.

Craig from the forum had it on loan for a while and I do not think he had any problems.

Hi Renniwano, I had the same problem with creases and a lot of wastage when I first started using my Ricoh, I found that the paper was so saturated it caused this issue. I now leave it to dry for a while and have no wastage. Well apart from the upside down ones:redface:
