Royal Mail send cardboard ones out for free (one to each address). In a busy place, after a month or so, they won't be as acurate as the card will curl if something is pushed through regularly.

The ones I bought off ebay are made from MDF which is thicker and made to last.

The last one we got was plastic and about 5mm thick - just like the post offices have

Lucky you - check RM site - they're cardboard.

If you are posting enough to roger a card one then i'd imagine you ought to have an account. If you have an account they send you plastic ones as well as the card ones.

Slight use would damage a cardboard cut out - I know as I use one now, that's why I bought an mdf one.

Anyway, who mentioned anything about accounts. The thread is "New Postage Charges" - which I don't think
effect accounts as prices would be different.

Jeesus, I didnt realise "new postage charges" were only for the unwashed and not for those of us who have RM accounts. For your information price rises happen across the board and are just as important to us account holders as those who use counter services.

It seems many smaller traders on this forum have MASSIVE chips on their shoulders about those who run larger businesses and thus have access to things like RM accounts.

I'll now back out of this conversation as its obviously not for me, being an account holder. :rolleyes:

As an example, I had 2 hoodies to post out this morning and these would have cost £10 via 1st class recorded delivery, I used collect+ and they went out under 24hr delivery at only £3.99.

You have to drop them off at your nearest collect+ drop off point but for the saving it's worth it for customers and to keep your prices down.

This whole thread has been about postage charges for Royal Mail posting, not for accounts. Start your own bloody thread just for you and a few others on here with accounts - I'm sure it will give you minutes of riviting reading.

I've been trading 10 years today - I have business premises, pay my taxes, and have over 31 years of experience in the print trade - I wouldn't class myself as a small trader. Maybe in the very small amount of time you've been on the forum your empire has expanded so much you've outgrown the forum.
