What is the current ink level in your carts? I found this site, leads of info that may or may not help but could lead to something.

thanks for the reply, the carts are full, they are brand new and ive just filled them up, the printer to is brand new, do i need to install the genuine carts to begin with to get things up and running by any chance? i was planning on selling these on as i dont need them so i was reluctant to open them.

You shouldn't need to install those carts first I don't think. Have you spoken to your carts supplier?

ive put the genuine cartridges in and its worked first time so i can rule out a printer fault, the only thing it can be is the cartridges, maybe ive done something wrong, what i done was remove both plugs on the cartridge, filled them with ink, used the syringe on the bottom hole to suck about 1ml out to make sure there was no trapped air bubble, then pressed the reset switch, and put them in the printer but then nothing happens, have i missed anything?

You can try resetting the printer by removing the plug form the back whilst switched on but I think the chips on the carts are faulty.

Did you replace the bung in the refil hole? As they were new carts you shouldn't have needed to remove any air as the nozzle holes are sealed,

The image you show means the printer isn't recognising the chips. This is either because (a) all the chips are faulty or (b) the cartridges are not installed fully. The latter is more plausible (unless you've been sent the wrong cartridges) and to get 3rd party cartridges installed they may need more force to get them in. Push down hard, full body weight at front and back of cartridges. They should 'click' into place. Switch printer on and see if red light goes off and printing starts.

If you aren't feeling/hearing them "click" into place then they probably aren't fully inserted.
