Ricoh SG3110 DN
Sawgrass Inks
Sawgrass Profile
Corel

Need to print Bright Barbie Pink and getting much Darker Pink on paper for pressing and on polymer mug after press.

Image on screen in RGB to get bright pink
Asking profile to print in RGB from printer.

Not successfull

Any other colour prints ever so slightly darker on mugs then shown on my screen, I can live with that as the screen is not expensive and when item is away from screen you would not notice.

So just the Barbie Bright pink causing the issue.

So much for an order going out this morning.

Help!!!

Try changing to CMYK. R255 G0 B255 comes out as Magenta in my Corel.
http://www.barbiecollector.com/shop/dol ... doll-w3376 Shows it as Pantone 219c. = R214 G 32 B 126

Hope that helps.

Does this answer my question?
Am I correct in thinking
1/ The cmyk colour scheme is inside the blue line, only colours within this blue match the colours of RGB.
2/ The colours inside the red line but outside the blue will be an RGB colour that CMYK is capable of doing an approximation of but it will not be exact and may indeed be no where near.
3/ The yellow line encompasses all the colours available in RGB. Anything outside of the red line cannot be done in CMYK.
4/ Beyond the red line is colours we can see butu cannot accurately reproduce using RGB or CMYK.

So I cannot reproduce Barbie pink because I am limited by the colours available on a CMYK printer.

Am I right there or am I barking up the wrong tree?

If I am right then does that mean all my designs need to be solely in the CMYK spectrum (pallet) to ensure correct reproduction, and it's by luck that my designs in RGb have been OK!!!

Hi Earl
Posts crossed there.

The magenta is somewhat subdued and is what was printed on my mug.

So am I right in thinking that really bright pink cannot be reproduced using a CMYK printer?

your printer use cmyk colors but it prints rgb :)
you may want to get new icc done to see if this will make your gamut larger. and from experience i know that it will make it bigger :)

have you tried brighten your pink up a little before you print?

Earl you are correct with the "barbie" colour. I am incorrect referring to it is "Barbie Pink". My apologies.

So a correction the pink i was trying to reproduce is R255 G0 B255, a really bright pink.

Hi Paul
To brighten the print colour, I need to adjust the colour where?

I am struggling here.

This is quiet interesting for me as well as I occasionally get the same problems. I dont really understand colour setups either so Im no help there , sorry.

But I think you are right, its outside the printing perameters of our printers.
Maybe Justin will come on and suggest something. He seems to be the wizard of colours on here.

Ok fishing about on the Tshirt forum and found this from the Calafornian God of print colour

"Good luck with trying to print bright pink, but my first instinct is to say that you are not going to hit a "bright" pink (Fuschia) color range, simply due to the limitations of CMYK printing. You might come close, but it will always pale in comparison to, say, Fuschia plastisol ink, or Fuschia transfer vinyl. It is important to know the strengths and weaknesses of each printer, as well as of the industry on the whole."

I have just gone pink crazy here [h=3]CMYK Selected Color Codes - December Communications, Inc. december.com[/h]The pink I was searching for is not to be found in CMYK.

I have learned that the really eye popping colours are not achievable, Lime Green being another one.

Hmmm time to talk to the client, this is going to be a bugger!
