iphone case woes
Re: iphone case woes
anyone else getting this.
have had 3 iphone cases back now with the backings starting to come off - after only 1 DAY !!!
this looks bad for me, as it looks like shoddy products.
think i will need to put a spot of super glue at the four corners to give it extra hold

I only ask this as I used another supplier for (what I thought) was an identical (and slightly cheaper) product - only to find that they printed completely different!

NO...I only use 2 for phone covers adam.
still to early to pass any serious judgement ....yet.
just dam embarrassing when customers do this. but i rather find out NOW, than xmas.....that is a recipe for disaster, for business, and my reputation as a new store/seller
but 4 tiny spots of super glue at corners should give me piece of mind

Re: iphone case woes
I've noticed that the glue on the cases isn't always perfect and can sometimes come away with the protective covering. The other thing I've started noticing is that it appears the surface of the aluminium inserts is peeling slightly at the edges...anyone else noticed this?
Re: iphone case woes
I noticed on the last batch I got that the printable surface did come away when i was trying to peel the protective plastic off them.
Also have noticed that covers from different suppliers/batches print very different - I can't afford the amount of iphone covers it would take to make an iphone specific ICC, especially as I already have a generic white aluminium ICC made!

Re: iphone case woes
I got some in from two different suppliers, Merlin Transfers and BMS.
Printed one using Merlin product and put it on my phone. Three days later the plate started to peel. Tried again with BMS and its still solid after three months.
BIGJ: Super glue will only work if it is the metal plate coming away from the adhesive and not the adhesive coming away from the plastic case. This is on the assumption that the adhesive is on the plastic case already and not on the metal. To ensure it sticks you would need to cut away some of the adhesive backing so that the metal is in direct contact with the superglue and the superglue is in direct contact with the plastic.
I hope that i have explained that correctly

Re: iphone case woes
Always have my doubts about superglue and plastic cases - hopefully the cases are made with a plastic that superglue actually adheres to as if not you might need another type of glue.
Re: iphone case woes
I use BMS ones.. I had someone put mine through a 'real' life child/handbag (not mine, I don't do bags) test before even selling any of mine.. and they are all still on and doing fab.
