@bigj2552 So glad now that I bought a chinese cutter (albeit not the absolute cheapest) and do not have to suffer all these issues that buying a 'decent' plotter causes LOL

Touch wood so far no issues at all but I did take the sensible approach of connecting it via serial port and not usb and so far its worked fine.

that the only reason i bought this dam thing - so it was easy(supposed) to set up and get going quickly:rolleyes:.
and another reason i bought it was the software was a doddle to use, even the rhinestone(designer edition) feature is p*** easy..... but i take it as another learning curve same as with my press's, printers ect.....at least i know them inside out now .
So this learning new settings from scratch can only serve me well bud in the long run....once i figure out the cut settings.
Like i said - i LOVE a challenge - and up to date, the sublimation world has been very intresting to say the least

and yes, i was swayed by the bigger chinese cutter for a moment but, this will do the job fine to start with.
If and when the time comes to do bigger stuff, then i will look into buying something decent that will last some yrs..but that yrs away bud

Well I have no doubt that you will suss it out, everything has a learning curve and at our age it might be a long one lol

I bought a plotter just to have a go and must admit it is quite nice watching it cut. My rhinestones from HK are still a while away however my lovely pink flock (that is flock and not frock) arrived today. So ready to try and cut a basic rhinestone template designed in Coreldraw later.

At least your cutter is portable, mine is not that easy to move but then I dont need to at the moment. Funny I may one day buy a 300mm cutter just for 'fun'

Well I know that you need very little blade showing to cut vinyl - infact they say you need the blade to be sticking out the holder no more than the thickness of the vinyl layer which is pretty damn thin on my sign vinyl! Cutting pressure wise mine will cut vinyl at the low figure of 16g however I favour slightly more just to make sure it cuts.

It makes little sense to me that yours seems to struggle to cut. I think this is a PM to BMS time and see if they can assist in checking you have everything in the right place and set up correctly - I really hope you find the issue as you deserve a break from my poor jokes at your expense

Still love what the machine is capable of....and it might, just might be operator error this end....but, maybe not.

not throwing in the towel just yet......but time is ticking for me.....and i cant put back opening store again - to many people know i,m due to open, so it really is presure time at the moment for me.

@bigj2552 Well, you know my jokes are there to cheer you up and not to get at you - I really hope it is something so simple that it gets fixed asap as those machines are definately capable of so much. I am having my own issues with other items so it is not all plain sailing for me either and working one full time job to try and fund this new venture makes getting things moving forward quite hard. But I am sure we will get there one day. I am expecting your next post to be 'Eureka - I have found it' and not 'Needed a tube of Epoxy resin'

Johnny, is it the settings or the blade or the vinyl you are having problems with? Are you running Studio 2.5.8, because for some reason it changed all the settings, so if its any help, I am still running the old version so I can let you have all the original settings. Also what vinyl are you using? I don't understand why you are having so many problems :o(
