If its the same one we bought it didnt work very well as it didnt fit very well and we ended up going back to wrapping silicon mats around them. Still looking for a mug press that does the bottles well.

Trying to get more info. I can't see how it manages the print without 2 small seams but supposedly it does. If they get back to me this time I'll post again.

I got the 6oz blanket delivered from BMS today, and tried it in our identical looking to the DF1 mug press, and nothing, the temp reading just gives ooo which is the same as if the blanked is not plugged in.
I wondered if the DF1 used a different pin-out on the wiring of the 4 pin plug, so got my multimeter out on the standard working blanket I'd taken out, and found that across pins 1 and 2 I get a reading of 0.09, and pins 3 and 4 gives 158 ohms. Now, on the new 6oz blanket I get 217 across 3 and 4, but nothing across 1 and 2
(This is with meter set to 2000 Ohm range)

At a guess, I would say pins 1 and 2 are the heating circuit, and 3 and 4 the temperature probe, and that my heating element circuit is bust.

Anyone care to lend a hand ... I don't want to complain to BMS and send it back as broken if it isn't - so I'd like to be sure first.

I heard back from Sun Fly. This machine is quite expensive and currently has no attachment for 500ml bottles. They can get the attachment made but again its expensive.

We do explain to customers that our blankets are not guaranteed to work with other mug presses because of the potential for different wiring. So long as connecting this hasn't blown the blanket then we will accept it back for a refund, but it will have to be tested on return and must be returned in 'as new' condition so it can be restocked. Normally they come back in perfect condition.

Further exploration...

The wiring is the same as our other Chinese type presses (mug and plate)
Pins 1 and 2 are for the temp probe, and the press puts out a small DC voltage across these (0.1 - 0.15V)
Pins 3 and 4 are the heating element, and the press puts out mains 240V AC across these.

As the press temperature/heating depends on the probe, if this isn't right then the press will report a fault and not heat up.

So, I still have continuity on the element of the new wrap, and I do have continuity on the probe, but a very high resisitance.

Anyone with a BMS mug press care to do some measurements compare?

... i.e. on the BMS press, what voltage (and polarity) is present across pins 1 and 2?

What resistance do you measure across pins 1 and 2 of the blanket?

Doing this work made me realise that the Chinese really have got the plug and socket the wrong way around, as you really shouldn't have the male pins on the press with live voltage on them, it should be the female/socket on the press, and the male/plug on the blanket.
