If you have seen my other post in printing about the Ricoh (please view if you have a few mins) A fill Ricoh Black cart is 92 gram full and 62gram supposedly empty. They never fade so I am fairly sure it is software driven to tell you when its empty. Anyone found a way of ressetting the carts?

Cheers

If you are referring to the sawgrass ones then allegedly they cut out as a result of a vacum prompt, the theory being that it will run until totally empty. If any other cartridge then I have no idea.
Hope that helps.

Why do you want to reset if the cartridge is empty?

It won't be completely empty, it stops short of being empty of the printer will end up sucking air into the lines/head (assuming the Ricohs work similarly to Epsons)

We have a large number of gxe3300 genuine carts which are £10 per set. If there is indeed ink inside then buy a set of genuine carts (discounts for multiple sets) and use the new chips...

Depends how they work. They are bagged inside the case so you can't suck air - so either they are vacuum triggered or it is based on the chip.
