If you go for a Brother as your main printer, I would thoroughly recommend you look for another Brother that uses the same cartridges for the backup. Then, if one printer fails on you, just swap out the cartridges and you're good to go. The great thing about Brother printers is, unlike the Epsons and the Ricohs, the same cartridges can be used in a whole range of printers - because there are no chips involved. Just match your cartridge to a printer.bigj2552;41141 wrote:i am going to buy a cheap epson s22 for back up anyway, regardless of what main printer i buy.
That was always on the cards !
Why go through all the learning process of the Brother and "lumber" yourself with an Epson for backup. Best to stick to the same brand (all Brother, all Epson, or all Ricoh) - in that way, what you learn on one will apply to the other.
