I've both types and think the swing away is the best option for me - but, you do need extra space to, swing it away

take it the clam version is only good if the head is NOT fixed ?---(top centralised pressure)

a clam, you can position the garment front or back and side to side, i have just done 20 formula1 style race shirts for a company, each with 10 designs on, most of them multi layered, and its a 38 x 38 no issues.

sometimes its you simply put the garment on neck out and feed it over the plate so the "extra" is in front if that makes sense, but i dont know why you think you would burn anything ??

if doing thicker garments like hoodies / fleece's ect.....

if the plate is fixed at top - your not gonna get an even pressure when you pull it down....correct me if i,m wrong..please

you open the garment up and put it on the press bed, like thats the body so only one layer is under, the clam then closes on it - think toasted sandwhich maker - the pressure thats on the press pulls it down to a very even pressure

That's the one I bought, but if I had the money I'd by a better one from a reputable company, not lovecut.

The press works and is value for money compared to some of the crap out there, but there has been quite a few problems from the word go.

BigJ, if you are only doing t shirts, then not a combo - why would you need, but if you are planning on doing caps/mugs etc then a combo is a good idea, and then replace it when a better press comes up 2nd hand (or you have funded a new one) the combo can always be kept as a back up for all your other equipment.

I have a geo knight press, had great backup from them recently, but it depends on how much you want this press to do

seperate flat press and mug press is way i want to go but.
i dont fancy paying another £200 just to get a cap press !!
