canvas printing
Re: canvas printing
not sure if transfer and sublimation are the same thing or not. i use sublimation paper, inks and end products. if its sublimation you do then yes you can print onto canvas.
Re: canvas printing
I can't recall what time/temp I used, but I generally press for longer than the recommended times to get the best results (it all depends on what works best for your press). I would definitely have used TexPrint paper because I don't have any other roll paper.pesketta;28767 wrote:yes it is bms subli canvas. i dont do photos i do my own artwork on various items. they are lovely and bright on all the other things but for some reason not the canvas. my image doesnt look as bright as yours, but i will still try and sell it anyway. at the end of the day the customer doesnt know it isnt meant to look like that.
I've double-checked the one on my wall and it was definitely printed on the non-bright white side. This is the opposite of the "inkjet printable canvas" that I used a long time ago (on that stuff you would print directly onto the bright white side, IIRC).
Sorry I can't help more than that.
Re: canvas printing
okay thanks for your time, i wont be defeated and will give it another go. mmm i use the tex print paper too. maybe its something to do with my images on this particular item. seems strange though seeings its okay on everything else.
Re: canvas printing
canvas i thick and need more ink to go in it. so as JSR said try press for little bit longer and definitly use texPrint as it has much higher ink relase then truepix.
also is worth to mention that when I start print canvass on normal inkjet there was no way i could get good colours on my canvas as on my paper prints. i needed to created custom profile only for canvas fabric as it is thisk not bright enough and got texture.

Re: canvas printing
Ok so sublimation canvas's as jsr quite rightly states you get excellent results from the BMS canvas the only draw back is the size restriction which is why i bought a printer bigger than my car !!! anyway i digress
i use tru pix paper press for 60 seconds on med to heavy pressure at 190 deg. i never know which side to press on . i can see where the confusion comes in because the recomendation seems ilogical but i believe you do indeed print on the dull side. what i do is cut a small corner off and print something on it then i cut another corner and turn it the other way up and print something else then compare which is best (obviously remembering which side up you used for which print) you should have enough canvas to do this from memory i believe theres a reasonable amount of cut off on the canvas so enought o play with before you commit to printing on a large piece . The only problem being is that as jsr said theres not a lot of call for small canvasesby the time you take into account a full wrap around the bars you pic size is quite small
