Re: Jagged edges

Post by bikertec »

I have been asked to do some notice boards A1 size, makes a change from t shirts and mugs. But (theres always a but) Im using Chaucer font and it seem to have jagged edges, infact all the fonts look jagged. Is this because its such a large size, or am I missing something.

Cheers Mick. BTW is there any vinyl suppliers between sheffield and leeds anyone can recommend as I have a delivery up there.

Proper vector fonts should scale up or down to any size without jagged edges unless you have put the font into photoshop or an image editing software.

Does it look jagged on screen or when cut. In my program the fonts look a little rough but cut clean

I did my design in photo shop then used a program to convert to vector graphics, that might have been my problem. I use flexisign so I will try doing it direct from there, last night I tried direct from flexi but never cut it out due to it looking jagged before cutting. Looks like I will be experimenting tonight.

Try a vector file first like illustrator or corel draw.

You are all stars just tried it with the font straight into flexi and it looked jagged as before but cut out perfect. Your all life savers, so now im going to vectorize the bitmap image then put the text in direct into flexi.

Thanks again people. :D
