It's been a long while since 1st class post for a mug was £1.96, it's now £2.48 with RM since beginning of April, and was £2.24 before that, lol

I think Martin quoted £1.96 for if the mug+packing weighs under 250g, which is likely with the Polymer mugs.

Will they fit inside the polystyrene shipping boxes? If they do, then the weight could be less than 100g for shipping - and that would bring the cost of 1st Class down to £1.58.

Its £1.96 for anything under 250g a normal mug would be £2.48 but maybe a plastic mug would be £1.96 due to the lighter weight.

These sound great for picnics & camping, garden parties etc!

Does anybody know the pressing times & temp for these, just the same as the ceramic ones or different? Also can these be dunked to cool without the worries of damages or do they not need it?

ive had good results with 160 seconds @ 190 but i have got a wooden insert and that sucks a bit of heat out of the mug and i dunk for a bit with wooden insert in so it dont distort the rim

Has anyone bought these from BMS with the puck yet? I've been asked to supply a sample but just wondered if anyone was doing them, maybe they could help myself and no doubt others out by supplying a sample?

I still want to try them, but it's the cost of the puck that's delaying my purchase. I've introduced many products in the past that just haven't taken off, so any extra upfront cost makes it a considered purchase. Almost £20 for a puck that's only suitable to one product means an extra £20 down the drain if the product flops - or if the mugs suddenly stop being available.

Exactly my thoughts that led to my thread I had considered offering to do the samples for members but wondered if anyone was currently doing them. If not I'll take a look myself but as you rightly point out, it's yet another layout for something that may sink or swim.
