Re: A few questions?

I print black and white canvases all the time and use PS to convert to the greyscale. Its all down to your printer software then and if it can print in greyscale. In PS's colour settings theres a function to set how you use greyscale, i use Gamma 2.2 with a 15% dot setting.

If your printer software can print b/w you need to check what settings it likes. Goto the Help section and type "greyscale" or "black and white" to see. There's bound to be info there.

The printer actually uses only the black cart to print from but lays down various layers of black dots (greys) to build up a b/w picture. Your getting green because it sounds like your printing in CMYK and not greyscale, which will use the 3 colour pots instead of the black cart!

Save your file in PS in greyscale (converted from the RGB setting) and then choose the greyscale setting in your printer software, that should work.

cheers

Just used my mug press which I bought from lovecut it is the LC4.

When I have let it heat up to 180c, I put the mug in and it the drops to 145c. Then it heats up again and the timer starts.

Is this correct?

Thanks

That's fine Daniel as the mug is cold to begin with & that is why the temp drops a bit & then comes back up as the mug is heated in the press.

Just timed it. It takes at Least 2mins to get back to 180c.

Ok thanks Ian. Would that change the pressing time then?

No as the pressing time will start once it is upto the correct temp. You might have to have a play with the temp but, should be ok at 180 degrees for 180 seconds.

No I don't as mine is one where the temp drops when you put the mug in but, it then comes back up quite quickly, the timer starts as soon as I put the mug in. I always get really good results with it & never had any problem with it.
