Longer/shorter time or higher/lower heat?

I've often wondered if when sublimating an item - let's say a mug for this example - what is the more important thing to prioritise (once you get past a minimum sublimation temperature of course); time of pressing, or temperature? So long as an item reaches the required temperature for actual sublimation to occur, does it matter if it's cooked for a longer time at a lower temperature or a lower temperature for a longer time?

Both time and temp are critical. However, depedning on your press/oven sometimes you can cook at a lower temp. for a longer time as we do in our oven.

Leaving an item for longer than required doesn't usually matter to a point, after thenm it can start to brown/burn the paper which could affect the print and cause blurring.

Many years ago I had a chat with with the folks at Chromaluxe and they liked longer at lower as it gave greater penetration and hence longevity of the print. Allegedly.
