Both companies I have mentioned have been pretty darn good. I did have a bad batch from one sometime ago but it didn't affect the print so wasn't really bothered.

My go to paper is from Ink Experts and they have purchased a new guillotine which is spot on in my opinion. Just make sure you ask them how they want notifications on what size to trim

I know you have impeccable standards Gooner (nothing wrong with that) but its got to be worth a punt on a 100 sheets just to test perhaps...

I’m using subli-light from InkExperts for mugs and it’s superb.

Just received a pack of A4 versa from them last week and I’m having an awful time with it on slate although it’s working on t-shirts ok-ish.

I guess I should cut a few sheets of that down to see if it performs as well as the subli-lite on mugs as my issues with it could be the press or substrate at the moment.

Anyone used versa?

I use it for mugs and fabrics and found it to be the best I've used. A big plus is it never curls - a problem I found with S-Race which then splashes ink all over the place.

I use versa on slates but find it to be spot on. This is using a vacuum oven if that helps.

For mugs I use the thicker paper (120 gsm I think). Again, this is for an oven so might be different.

If you want to do slates then grab an ST3042 vacuum oven. I do not do many as it is not my field, but every single one I print in this oven is spot on thanks to someone on here posting the time and temp.

I’m literally just starting out so have only basic gear. Mug press seems fine but the heat press was £100 on Amazon so is probably going to be “fun” to learn on!

Also bought cheap ink as I wasn’t sure if sublimation is for me. Now slightly hooked though and have a vinyl cutter on the way too.

All in all everything seems fine - knowing now that versa probably isn’t my issue is a huge help.
