epson et 2650 colour problem ICC profile
Re: epson et 2650 colour problem ICC profile
Hi everyone I am new to this forum but have seen lots of valuable information posted so hopefully someone can help with the problem I am having.
I have been involved in sublimation for around 5 years but have always previously used Ricoh and Sawgrass printers where I can used the powerdrivers for the colour management.
More recently I began 3d sublimation using film and have purchased an Epson et-2650 after being recommended this printer by the manufacturers of my 3D heat press and after having been shown excellent results from this printer on the finished product.
I purchased the printer which along with Inktec Sublinova Smart Ink and this came with the ICC profiles for sublimation.
The problem has been after setting up the printer and ICC profiles, after few tests the colours are not coming out correctly at all. Could anyone point me in the direction of where I can find a guide to the settings of photoshop needed for sublimation when using this printer with ICC profiles? Also any other information would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks Sam

Hi Sam, what inks and films are you using? You do need a specific profile to print onto the film which is different to paper. Also, which 3D machine?

You also need to turn off colour management in your printer driver. Select the ICM box and tick ' OFF ( No colour adjustment )'.
Pic shows process on Epson 1500 - yours should be similar.
Also check that the image you are printing is in RGB mode, not CMYK.

Re: epson et 2650 colour problem ICC profile
The colour management had already been turned off before I began the print tests with the Epson printer.
We are using a 3D Smartone MKIII which is the same as the sublideck A5 machine and film is from the manufacturer of the 3D mschjjr being 3D sublimation solutions.
Up until now we have been using a Ricoh 31110dn with powerdriver and use the same settings for printing onto paper for our 2D phone cases as we do for printing onto film for use with our 3D sublimation machine. Both of which give excellent results.
We have done tests with the Epson also on aluminium sheets and paper with poor results still.
As the Ricoh is no longer available was hoping to move over to Epson as the SG400s we have tried have given us lot of issues such as black dots (something to do with dithering I have read).
Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

In Photoshop print dialog:
Select: Photoshop Manages Colours (NOT printer manages)
Select your ICC profile in the next drop down box
Select a rendering intent of Perceptual

Re: epson et 2650 colour problem ICC profile
I have a couple of profiles you can try, I'll send a link over when I'm next in the office.
Re: epson et 2650 colour problem ICC profile
Yes the photoshop print settings are set just as you have outlined which have been so since be began testing the printer.
@Justin I very much appreciate you sending ICC profiles for me to try, fingers crossed it may resolve the issue.

Re: epson et 2650 colour problem ICC profile
Could you post a link to these profiles as mine are also out by a fair bit.
my blues print more of a very light purple if I use the profile that came with my setup.
if I use standard settings it’s closer to screen colour but not quite right.

Are you assuming your screen is right, or do you calibrate it?Mrteajunkie;142661 wrote:if I use standard settings it’s closer to screen colour but not quite right.
