Hi i have just got a new epson printer and now getting issues when pressing mugs.
as you can see on photo above the text it is leaving so kind of ink marks on the mug these are not there on the paper before pressing so not sure to why we are getting this also see attched image of paper after pressing the marks seem to have appeared.
any advise would be highly helpful as its causing a-lot of issues

Looks like 'gassing out.'

Is your press gripping the mug tightly enough?

What condition is the press heat blanket in?

What time and temp settings are you using?

Judging by the burnt edges on the transfer it seems to me that you are cutting your transfers higher than the actual mug. Try trimming them to within the mug height.

I'm no expert on heating elements, but those wrinkles look a bit suspect to me. I have a couple of mug presses and both elements are smooth. Anything that would cause the tiniest gap between the transfer and the mug will most likely result in gassing out, leaving those smudge marks on your mugs.

I have a halogen oven. You can get them for around £25 - £50 all over the place (Argos, B&M, etc). You need silicone wraps to keep the transfers on your mugs. These can be had for around a fiver each from the likes of ebay. These ovens will usually hold 4 mugs at once, but I only put 1 or 2 in at a time.

I get excellent prints with my oven and can print over a larger area of the mug than when using a heat press.

Have a search for Blizzard ovens on the forum, we have a couple of threads discussing these. I use one personally and can't recommend highly enough if you're doing regular small runs or even larger orders.
