Have I killed my printer, before I even start? I purchased a Ricoh SG 3110 DN and like a numpty..unpacked it plugged it in put in the cartridges and turned it on......... THEN ..l decide I’m gonna look at the instructions - it capitals there’s this

DO NOT POWER ON THE PRINTER BEFORE INSTALLING SAWGRASS SUBLIJET-R INK CARTRIDGES.

obvs my cartridges are now showing as empty.

I’ve rechecked the box, no set up leaflet, and no usb cable to connect.

i rang the company first as I thought they’d sent empty cartridges, then delved a bit deeper and realised I’d not done set up correctly. I’m waiting for a call from their tech guys next couple of days

so my question is .... have I completely f#%@$d my printer or is there a way out

Firstly, most printers don't come with a usb cable. This has been the case for many, many years.

Secondly, when you first install cartridges the Ricoh uses a LOT of ink to initially fill the long supply lines leading to the print heads. Once it's been primed you'll find the Ricoh is very economical on ink use.

Just to confirm, it is the sawgrass carts you've installed?

I would imagine you bought this printer from one of the suppliers on here as they have supplier Sublisplash inks, which are very good.
Give the supplier a ring and they will sort you out. I dont think the printer is kapputt.

Be aware that most of the team are at the Printwear and Promotion show today and tomorrow. I know Adam is as I was chatting to home yesterday and he is the main technician.
