Re: Prints coming out dark

Post by Mhd »

Hi all, long time viewer first time poster.

iv got a Epson wf2010w with Ciss and paper with profile from cityinkexpress.

the problem I’m having is its printing very dark and the browns are reddish and light browns are yellowing. i had a s22 before some cheap ink and no profile and it all came out great, now that gave up and bought this
and can’t for the life of me get it right.

Im using Inkscape to design and print on a laptop running xp.

if I print a picture it comes out a lot darker like someone has turned the contrast on the tv.

many thanks in advance.

, thanks for the reply, yes I have followed cityinkexpress instructions and in printing preferences click no colour manager, then in Inkscapes document properties load my icc profile that they supplied me and it’s just so dark . Also the sky blues are greenish and browns reddish and pinks coral. Iv tried all the profiles they supplied for different papers and all just the same some darker than others.

I also tried selecting icm in printing preferences and loading the icc to the printer properties, still the same.

Thanks

Do you have access to Photoshop or Coreldraw? These programs manage colour very well. Maybe even try printing with the free Gimp software. I have a feeling Inkscape is the problem here but maybe someone will come along who uses it regularly for sublimation and prove me wrong.

OK so I have now tried Illustrator cs2 (and set up with icc) and the same results the actual print looks ok now but when pressed it’s really dark the first image is of how the picture should look when pressed and the second is the new print! Same mugs same time temps.

I use Inkscape to print and it works fine. After opening your image you have to choose document properties in File and choose under color document the right color profile and link it. After that in Print go to advanched and choose Print mode Ink jet plain paper AND Color Profile OFF. This at least works for me.
