Re: elements 15

Looking for assistance again please.

I have been sublimating mainly clocks and coaster and have had no complaints.

However I have been using picassa on a old computer to store and edit my photo's and doing my templates in powerpoint and saving as a JPEG in elements 15 ready for printing.

Picassa is now not available to download on my new laptop and I have been told powerpoint will not give me a high enough resolution, so I sat at my caravan last night trying to get to grips with elements 15 so I can do it all on there.

The problem I have is I don't seem to be able to use much of elements as alot of the menu's are greyed out including layers.

I purchased it from amazon at £49.00, do I need anything else?

Are you working in 16-bit mode? Try switching to 8-bit.

I only have Photoshop CS5 and you can change to 8-bit from the 'Image' menu I believe (I'm at our caravan at the moment so can't check it out properly).

In Elements you can only edit images in 8-bit RGB.

Look at the tab of your image and if it says anything other than that then Elements will load the image but won't allow editing.

In this screenshot only the RGB 8-bit image (as seen on the tab) can be edited...

Caravaners are a hardy lot. Cold ...no problemo.

PS, 20/21c here in Germany too.
