I have had some successes but quite a few failures, I will try 180 secs, thanks.

Have done a mug at 180 secs, perfect, no tape marks, better definition. Many thanks UK Printed Mugs & Quinsfan:biggrin:

I would guess Mega have left off a zero but really not good for anyone buying that press. Going to be wasting plenty of mugs unless prior experience makes user realise it is totally wrong.

I am a newbie, I have used quite a few mugs getting the pressure and temperature right on the mug press, but I am now having a problem with the heatproof tape marking the mugs. I bought my mug press from Mega, I am using the settings they suggested 180c idle and 185c pressing, pressing for 15 seconds. Using Durham Mugs.

Any suggestions will be most welcome. Thank you.
180 for 180 & what colour is your heat tape? I found the green tape can leave marks, try the yellow / gold tape it tends to iliminate marks.

As per my previous reply to another poster, try the yellow / gold tape, most subli firms sell it, the green tape is thicker & therefore easier to work with when applying the tape to the transfer / substrate, especially for the fat fingered!

The yellow / gold tape is thinner & tends to curl up whilst you're trying to work with, however it seems to leave less marks.
