Hello, I have a customer (church lady) who needs the church logo putting on the side of a waterproof table cloth. naturally i said yes no problem, so my fellow printers what is going to be the best way of doing this. it will have to be in stages as my heatpress not big enough to do whole thing at once. the size of cloth is 60"x80" and they want it across the 80" on both sides. its only 2 colours so could vinyl or could siblimate?
any advice appreciated.
many thanks

Re: printing on a table cloth(waterproof)
Presumably this is so she can use it again and again as it would be far easier for you if it was a cotton table cloth that you could heat press onto. Plastics are always tricky to print and quite specialist. So firstly go back to her and ask if it must be a wipe clean cloth (she might be thinking they are the cheapest). If it has to be then vinyl lettering will work and probably be cheapest in terms of materials but most expensive in time. You will need a very big table and be very good with a ruler to get it nice a neat. Bear in mind that the more they wipe over the lettering the more likely that in the end it will peel off.
I doubt if there is a sublimation material out there that is plastic in feel but can withstand 180 degree temperature so I would rule that out.
Personally I would look at printing this using a solvent wide format printer, if I had the width I would bang it out for you cheap, but I don't sorry
If price is the major issue then look at the following:
Find a table cloth that is perfect for her needs. Get some banners printed (either on vinyl or I think flag material would be better) and then using velco fixers you can "stick" them in the position required. Its not perfect but it could work quite easily. I can run a couple of flags for you for £20.00 (have quite a bit spare to get rid of
) have a look at the image to see what I mean....

Depending on what the budget actually is, this is how how could go about it:
as you'll need to outsource the fabric printing to a bigger company (don't think anyone here can print that wide on fabric)
Expect to pay £30 per metre for this from a UK supplier, and you need 2 metres of 150cm wide fabric.
And then once printed you need to send it off to be coated, which will cost abuot £5 per metre for a short run like that.
Prices ex VAT and deliveries between the other companies.
We only print to a metre wide ouselves, and outsource bigger fabric production to Turkey,
and then pay £2.50 for fabric coating per metre in the UK, but this price only kicks in once you're printing over 20 metres at a time. We're mainly using this for making oil-cloth type washbags and similar products, rather than table cloths though.
