Re: Aprons

I am very new to the dye sublimation world so would appreciate some advise from some of you experienced guys. I am wanting to print some aprons and have been told they are 65% polyester, 35% cotton. Would they be suitable to print? They are available in various colours so wondered if you could print white on a red apron? Any advise would be greatly appreciated

The colours would be faded as it is not 100% polyester also you cant print white in sublimation. You normally print onto white as the sublimation process means that the ink goes into the material. I am no expert or have ever done this but I believe if you try to print onto a coloured material the colours wont be the same. If you try to print blue on red it would come out purpleish or blue onto yellow would turn greenish.
Many thanks
Iain

Equipment used A4 Ricoh printer, HP3085 Heat Press Graphtec cutter, Jarin mug press, CJV 30-60 solvent printer and lots of help from DSF.

Vinyl looks great on aprons if you have a cutter and the designs allow.

I have printed onto 65% poly and have had no problems with it fading or looking washed out!
