Re: Recommendations for mug/heat tape

We're wanting to buy in a load of heat tape, and wondered if anyone had already done the research to find which supplier works out cheapest for buying in quantity. It seems like it's more expensive than it should be, so wondering if we are suffering a 'sublimation tax' on a standard item, or every industry using it is paying the same price.

I'm paying around £1.50-£2.00 per roll off eBay for 10mm brown. Seem to be sellers who specialise in all different widths so maybe worth contacting them for a better bulk deal.

Did post earlier but must have clicked wrong button.

We use masking tape and have done for years now. 75p a roll and lasts longer than heat tape as you can use shorter strips. Also use it for taping up the sides of mugs like Pisque mentions on the oven post. Only certain makes will not leave residue though. Must have tested over 40 makes to find the best option.

My wife used to use masking tape (before we met) and accepted the residue as a necessary evil, so haven't gone back to it since.
If you're feeling generous about the best makes, then I'm all ears! ;-)

Just to add that we only ever use 20mm heat tape (easier to manage and use in tape dispenser) and buy from http://ooznest.co.uk/High%20Temperature ... imide-Tape
