Hi,

I have a small Arts & Crafts shop in the Highlands of Scotland and just starting out with dyesub to attract more customers. With only limited funds I was tempted down the eBay route but after spending a lot of time on this forum reading about other peoples experiences it was obviously a big risk. I ended up with a 3110DN, Adkins 15x15, Cactus wraps and a Halogen oven. Probably end up with a cap press from eBay at some point.

I have a few questions already.....

Cheers

Welcome to the forum!
Don't discount Ebay, but it does pay to be cautious and do your research before buying from anywhere.
Can we see your shop?

Thanks.

My shop is at http://www.sutherlandartsandcrafts.co.uk
Highland Image collection at http://www.highlandsimages.co.uk
Antarctic Images at http://www.antarcticimages.co.uk

So I have plenty of material to draw on. Many images are "repurposed" and sold as Tablemats, Coasters, Canvas, Notebooks, Prints cards etc. At present the tablemats etc are all hand made using prints/laminates/adhesive sheets/cork and cheap mats from where ever I can find them. It is a tedious process but the result is very good, top laminate is done in a heated vacuum press. I also use dibond as a substrate and built a machine to accurately trim the edges without distortion, the prototype is at Lion Picture Framing in Birmingham.

Anyway I will be testing the water with new tablemats but they are smaller than the 290x215 that I produce at present using A3 photo paper. My press would take larger sheets but have to live with A4 printer.

Hopefully some supplies will be here next week and I can start producing.

Many thanks, as mentioned I have been looking at the forums for a while and picked up a lot of good information. Paid for premium membership yesterday, only comment is the suppliers discount listings contain a lot of outdated offers. It would be nice to see who is offereing a discount at this point in time, probably include the end date in the header.
