Re: Ricoh - "Processing".

Post by NikGrey »

Really annoying problem, it's happened before but I re-installed the driver and it was ok.. now I need it again its SLOW.

So, I set up photoshop to send my image to the SUb printer, printer says "Processing" and makes One pass of the head - then its "processing" again for a while and another pass of the head.

I keep stopping the job as its not correct and I cant be waiting 5 mins for One mug print.

Any ideas folks ?

Both my Ricoh's have the latest firmware: 2.0.6

With this problem and the 50% wasted ink I'm really getting fed up with this sub idea :(

Just found there is a later firmware 2.0.9 so will try that - just have to move things around though so I can connect a windows machine to the thing :(

OK - Updated to 2.0.9 and all is well again.

I had to use a Windows machine to extract the BIN file, not even sure I needed to use a windows machine for that.

Once I had the .BIN file I put that onto the Mac - opened up the address of the printer - in this case it was 192.168.1.8 (as everything is on a network) went to the control panel (after logging in as admin) and clicked 'Update Rom' (which appears when logged as admin on the 'Settings' page and selected the /BIN file.

It updates via a mac.

I had the same thing, but found that if the machine is properly "warmed up" i.e. switched on for at least 1/2 hour before suing, it doesn't happen. Maybe that is just my case.
