Epson 9600 printer broke - any help please?

My Epson 9600 gave up the ghost today.
The print head has stopped printing.
I bought the machine about 18 months ago for £800 or there about's.
A new head is going to cost me a small house and the prices of a replacement machine seems to have gone up to around the £1k Mark.

I have used the machine for canvas printing and I have put a few miles on it.:biggrin:

Does anyone know where a working 9600 might be available at a reasonable cost please, failing that does anyone know what alternatives I should be looking at in the 44" printer range.

9600 is an older machine, ours thankfully still running fine (along with couple of 7600s) There's definitely ones out there with life left in them.
For what I see on Ebay for the sold 9600s, you should be paying around £200-£500 - no way would I want to be paying twice that for such an old printer.
