Re: Heat Press Vinyl on top of Vinyl?

Hi guys

We're decorating some rugby shirts with ImagePerfect IP6901 it's a vinyl for heatpressing to textiles.

We designed a flag and have pressed this to the shirts. The customer has asked if it's possible to heat press the players initials on top of the flag. Is this okay?

The flag isn't very big - maybe 6 x 3cms. The initials would go on top anf parts would overlap to the shirt fabric.

Cheers

All depends on the type of vinyl, not familier with that one myself. I've layered them before, I tend to reduce the temp on 2nd press and then press again once all layers are down which seals them nicely together.

Could you do a test run with a couple of scrap pieces of material? Most seem to layer but I know a few don't.

I am sure in the past we have layered it 3 times. 2 types of vinyl first then flock last. Done it many a time as far as I can remember. I was never the one pressing it though as I hate vinyl.

I know from experience of using vinyl myself and dealing with customers that it depends on the type of vinyl. I know one guy who bought vinyl from two different suppliers and when he tried layering with them both, it didn't work.

I love working with vinyl - I would quite happily sit and weed all day :)
