Re: Keyring insert printing faint

Post by dpash74 »

Hi guys,

I am new to sublimation printing but seem to be plodding along ok up to now apart from my keyring inserts.

I have looked online for the correct times , pressure and temp settings but have found more than one so I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction.

I have read to press them at 190 for approx. 60 secs but also 205 for approx. 20 secs. I don't want to be printing lots as I can't seem to get hold of the inserts separately so would have to keep investing in more keyrings and be left with some having no inserts for them.

Which keyrings are you using? If they're the aluminium inserts I do them at 190 for 50 secs on low-med pressure. You can get separate inserts from Transfer Press.

Thanks Twinsgran

Yes they are the aluminium inserts. I think I may have had the pressure a little firm then if you do yours at those settings.

I looked on Transfer Press website but couldn't find them, I will have another look.

I know this might seem obvious but I have done it. Have you checked to see if the inserts have a protective film over them if so this needs to come off.......

I was just going to ask the same question!

Here's the link to the inserts.

Yes they do have a protective film on them which I removed.

Well if the plastic film has been removed I have found that I need to press them at 200 for 60seconds to get a decent result with medium pressure. The ones that I have been using are the BMS ones. Hope this helps.
