Re: RGB to CMYK for Print.

Before I start making my images again in CMYK I think it's worth asking here..

I need to make flyers/business cards etc but everything I have created is in RGB - When I put my logo onto the Vista Pr*nt photoshop template the blue looks dull so I need to do something to fix that !

IS there any way I can do this without starting again ?

I don't want to spend ages making designs for VP only to find the finished result does not match what I expect to see.. if you get my drift.

I can get top quality cards for hardly any money from VP if I select the best materials, that's much easier than trying to do all of this myself.

I fear I will not get the 'Brightness' of my images onto card at the moment, it's going to take me ages to settle on the card design..

Doesn't answer your question but, I hate the size of vistaprints cards, I've used beanprint and goodprint who produce much better business cards.

I've come to hate CMYK ;-) Blues suffer, as do yellows. You get an eye for it after a while but it's probably best to see what colours look like in CMYK space as you go. 'They' say that CMYK looks worse on screen than on the printed product though if that's any consolation.

Have you ever tried MOO cards Nik?... I won a batch from them two years ago in their top of the range stock. Absolute class is all I can say... lovely finish in the matt. Very cheap for the quality you get and you can send in as many proofs as you like until you are happy with the product. Just an extra.... the little 1/2 size cards are really cute........and are great for slipping onto someones saucer,.... just watch they dont stir with it or think its a biscuit!
