Re: personalised phone case

Post by guarddog14 »

Hi everyone ,

One of my top sellers is personalised phone cases but im not always happy with the quality , i always thought that the problem was with my printer profile , but i've just had paul make me one and my set designs that i have made myself look alot better so i know that has worked , but my personalised phone cases are still picking up colour in the photograph wrong , is it because i am resizing ? and maybe photoshop is filling some colours in or does any one have any idea what else could be causing the problem , it seems all the images are alot darker than they actually appear ?

thanks , danny

Are you camera and working space profiles in Photoshop the same?
Do you have a good quality monitor which is calibrated with a custom ICC?
Are you using Photoshop in proofing mode?

Have you tried any editing before hand in photoshop.
Could you post a the photo, and a photo of your finished product?

images look like paper is printed on the wrong side also try trupix paper are you using sublijet r inks if so you dont need icc unless using mac use powerdriver software from sawgrass instead

If OP has a custom ICC profile made, then switching paper would then change his results negating the benefits of having a custom ICC in the first place.
Having a custom ICC should give better results than the generic ICC that Sawgrass provide as a raw ICC or through PowerDriver.

i just meant that most use powerdriver as do i and with trupix get good results custom icc is not required as colour reproduction if using sublijet r and this setup gives good results, the graininess of the image and the dark print could suggest wrong side of paper as i have had the same issue myself, if its the type where its hard to tell the difference lick your fingers and dab each sidethe one wheres its shiny is the right one, put paper in your tray shiny side down
