Hi there
Am wondering if anyone can advise. I am trying (very much trying - aaagh!) to press my first mug. I am following the instructions but can't get the temperature set.
The instructions state to set the initial temperature to 90 but I can't get the reading to go below 200 (and highest it will go is 330).
The instructions that came with the machine say that the temperature is shown in Celsius.

Your temp display is in degrees F if it won't go below 90. Google search will
give you C to F conversions.

Thanks for that. I did wonder (but didn't try a conversion) as both the site I bought it from and the instructions stated it was in C.
Good news - I have just pressed my first mug!! Oh my golly, how exciting it that?!! Okay, the black is a bit brown-ish (overcooked I think but need to search through forum posts) and the text isn't very sharp but it is a start! Yay!)

Maggie, I recognise your situation - you are on the cusp of a learning curve.. Don't worry - I know how it feels and we are all here to help you.
Brown Blacks = Over cooking.
A general rule here is 180c (360f I think) and 180 secs.. well, that certainly works for me with a Ricoh (and Sawgrass Inks from BMS) and my really shoddy Chinese Mug Press.
AND, I have just started 'Dunking' to stop the 'Blurr' - my Mug's 'Ping' and I welcome that as it gives me something new to test.. these new Mugs are out for testing in the community (with my Logo on of course).

Thanks NikGrey and Scotty. I have a feeling I will be pestering you all silly.
I am wondering if anyone can offer their valued opinion on this problem (I am sure I have read it mentioned on the forum but am struggling to find it).
Excuse the rubbish photo - hopefully you can still see the problem. The bottom corner is faded/blurry and the paper is also discoloured at the bottom - would love to know what causes this please?
Temperature 338/170 and 120 cooking time.

Don't panic!

The bottom of the mug takes longer to get hot as obviously you have a nice lump of ceramic there. My suggestion to rectify this is twofold. Firstly place the mug in the press so that the open end is facing your control box. Secondly, rather than having the mug bang in the middle, move it slightly toward the control box. This should result in the bottom of the mug taking a little more pressure. You could pop the time up by 15 seconds as well.
