Slates @ BMS - Special Offer For October
Re: Slates @ BMS - Special Offer For October
I almost missed this one, I have BMS liked on FaceBook, but this didn't come up in my feed. I was just about to order 20 slates at their normal price from them to fulfill the next load of wholesale order we have, but for some reason did some browsing their special offers sections, and found that they have them on special offer of £2.50 (plus VAT) rather than their usual £3.30 (plus VAT). If you go through their normal sections, the slates still show up at their normal price, which seems a shame for BMS as if I hadn't done some searching, I would only have bought the originally planned 20, but once I saw this offer, I went ahead and bought 105. An odd number, as they come in boxes of 28, but if I ordered over 105 the delivery cost went up, so not sure how the website is calculating the postage costs.

Hi Tim,
Website calculates costs on weight rather than boxes so that would probably explain
the strange quantities. Not sure why you didn't see the Facebook post as it should have come
up.

FaceBook is unpredictable. Thanks for the offer though, the timing was perfect for how well the slates are doing for us, which is brilliant as I only started them as a small trial last Christmas not knowing how well they would sell
Re: Slates @ BMS - Special Offer For October
i am on facebook most of the time as is installed on my phone.
.. But missed that one too.
As Tim Said, facebook is unpredictable. Is like a google now. Is not enough to post random post once a month so people can see it.
You need to have great rank within your audience. so if you post a lot, people like, share your posts then you have more people talking about story on your time line. this way larger percentage of your posts will pop up on yoour audience wall. if you post only once a week or two percentage will be much lower.
thats why BIG NO-NO is to have fake audience now. Some people buy likes and end up with 5000 likers. if 95% of them are fake or people that are not really interested with your page then you rank goes even lower.

Re: Slates @ BMS - Special Offer For October
I have a lot of friends on FB, along with liked business pages, so it's impossible for me to see all of everyone's updates, which is why I would have missed seeing this. This is not to be a dig at BMS, just letting them know that they almost lost a bigger sale than I had planned due to me not seeing their update on FB, and on that basis I would likely not be the only one who has liked them on FB who doesn't see all of their posts and offers. When I told my dad (who's also our accountant) about the offer, he didn't think I'd bought enough! (So, I may be back for more, if there'll be any left!)
Re: Slates @ BMS - Special Offer For October
Not on Facebook and have no intention of trying it. I prefer to meet real people and talk to them. Besides I value my privacy too much. I could rant all day about it and the globalisation of commercial enterprises. Anyway I have candy crush on my windows phone. What happened to the good old fashioned system of letting your customers know about special offers by email. Would be nice if registered customers got a first bite of the cherry. Instead I get 'like me on Facebook and save money' and not visit our website and save money. I know we'll hear all about time time saving by using tweedeck and the potential of picking up a new customer in Reykjavik who wants to sublimate walrus tusks but it would be nice to feel a little bit special.
I think I'll phone my customers and let them know that if they put up a 40 foot poster outside their house with my face on it and the words "I like him" I'll give them £1 off their next order !
I'm going back into my cave for the winter now knowing I won't be sharing my personal photos with a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend.
