Re: Who supplys the best wide format paper?

I have been asked to contract print on demand a poster for a client of mine.

They are looking for the best quality paper they can find so am wondering if any of you guys know where the best supplier of wide format paper is?

I am running a Versacam so it needs to be Solvent paper. The poster requires pearlescent and metallic silver and gold printed on it so please do not ask me to switch to a pigment printer :-).

I have no real suggestions for who's the best, but would advise on finding out what the client's budget is for how much they are willing to pay for the best - for pigment work there is certainly a huge different between Xativa papers when compared to expensive Hahnemuhle rag - the latter is sometimes what our clients want, and so pay the extra for. I don't know the solvent market, but would assume that there is going to be a range of product options and price points to suit.
We usually use "The Big Printer Company" for our non-sublimation papers, and they have wide format solvent papers ranging from £50 a roll to nearly £300

Have you thought of asking Roland technical. Jack

To be honest JackB, no I didn't think of that.

I will push over an email to them.

Thanks
