someone has brought me a pair of boxer shorts and want black wording across the belt bit on the back, the shorts are stretch polyester and ribbed, if i stretch the belt bit it goes flat but when released all goes back together again, does anyone recommend how i can print on these? Sublimation? vinyl ? etc

If you go the vinyl route Siser C print PU is the one to use though it needs printing. Amongst other materials it can be used on poly and lycra so it will 'give' with the stretchy waist band. I don't know of a ready coloured vinyl that has the same qualities because I only use print as you know from your visit.

I did a superflex print on to an elastic waistband once, seemed to hold quite nicely.
Other option may be embroidery, but you want 50+ for that to make it cost effective.

Any type of flex or vinyl will hold but will not be as stretchy as the shorts themselves. This means that after time it will probably crack or come off.

Depending on the type of material you may want to try a laser printed paper with your new OKI, maybe even dye sub if it is polyester.

They are polyester so I'm printing 2 flags down the legs via sub . It's only for one fight so as long as vinyl lasts 12 rounds and looks ok then will attempt that. It's a favour job but if it looks good would like to add image to my website as another product I can do.

If they are polyester why not do everything sub?

Just interested as to the reason why as it seems I am missing something :-)

Because of the ribbed belt bit I thought if I print on it flat when it goes back the words would all be scrunched up
