We used to have a 4400 which is the 4 colour version of the same printer, and it ran very well, and subsequently sold to another member of this forum.
This is a 'proper' pro level printer made for Epson by Mutoh. For this level of printer, a CISS is a set of refillable carts, which are usually around 200-250ml each.
We upgaded from our 4400 to proper wide format 7600 & 9600 machines, which are very similar models except for being bigger than the 4000. We needed the extra size, but also wanted the better quality print of the 7 colours, that 4 wasn't giving us.
The 4000 has the advantage of being best of both worlds, as it can use a sheet feed tray, and/or roll feed 17" papers.
If buying used, make sure that it has a perfect nozzle check and see it working.
If it isn't already running sub inks, then flushing out the old inks and refilling with sublimation inks is easy, and there is a hidden menu option called "INIT FILL" which will do this.
